Festival internazionale di Musica Contemporanea

The 69th International Contemporary Music Festival will take place in Venice from October 11 to 25, 2025, under the direction of Caterina Barbieri. The theme, “The Star Within,” explores music as a force capable of creating new worlds beyond traditional genres.

The program features international artists and concerts ranging from electronic music to minimalism, as well as folk, drone and afrofuturism, alongside sound installations, performances and artist talks.

Biennale College Musica will also support young talents with new projects.

Le Città in Festa

“Le Città in Festa” is a program of events and initiatives held across the entire municipal area, launched in 2015 with the aim of making the city more vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming.

The project is based on collaboration between the Administration and local organizations, including cultural, social, sports, and business associations, creating a shared and continuously growing calendar of events.

Through activities such as exhibitions, markets, festivals, concerts, conferences, and sports events, the program promotes social interaction, enhances local traditions, and contributes to the revitalization of the area, encouraging citizens to actively participate in city life.

Venice Hospitality challenge

The Venice Hospitality Challenge reaches its 13th edition and returns with its spectacular sails on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The allure of grand sailing and world-renowned hospitality excellence come together once again this year under the banner of this regatta, a true Grand Prix of the City of Venice, as it is the only one held within the inner waters of a city—the Serenissima. Sport, luxury, and lifestyle are the core values of this competition, which will feature Maxi Yachts that have written unforgettable pages in the history of sailing, paired with equally renowned Venetian high-end hospitality institutions. Reserved exclusively for maxi yachts, it is the only regatta in the world to take place entirely within the inner waters of a city. Conceived and organized by Mirko Sguario, president of the Yacht Club Venezia, the Venice Hospitality Challenge is a perfect blend of Venice’s seafaring spirit and the commitment to showcasing the highest level of hospitality the Serenissima has to offer. The event involves Venice’s luxury hotels, which have supported it from the very first edition.

Festival internazionale del Teatro

The 54th International Theatre Festival will take place from June 7 to 21, 2026, under the direction of Willem Dafoe. The program features performances and meetings with some of the most important figures in contemporary theatre, alongside productions created within Biennale College Teatro, the training project dedicated to young artists.

Willem Dafoe began his artistic career at the age of 19 with Theatre X (1975–1977), one of the first experimental theatre groups in the United States. In Europe, where he moved in 1976, he worked with the legendary Mickery Theatre in Amsterdam, a key hub of the international alternative scene. In 1977, in New York, he co-founded The Wooster Group, with which he performed until 2003.
